Cautions
The effects of Nasonex during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, alert your doctor immediately. It is not known whether Nasonex appea
rs in breast milk. However, other steroids do appear in breast milk and can harm a nursing infant. Your doctor may therefore suggest discontinuing Nasonex if you intend to breastfeed.
|
Before Using This Medicine
Breast-feeding¡XUse of dexamethasone is not recommended in nursing mothers, since dexamethasone passes into breast milk and may affect the infant's growth. It is not known whether beclomethasone, b
desonide, flunisolide, Nasonex or triamcinolone passes into breast milk. Although most medicines pass into breast milk in small amounts, many of them may be used safely while breast-feeding. Levels of
mometasone are not measurable in breast milk, thus exposure is expected to be low. Mothers who are taking these medicines and wish to breast-feed should discuss them with their doctor.

How should this medicine be used?
Nasonex nasal inhalation controls the nasal symptoms of allergies but does not cure them. You should begin to feel an improvement in your nasal allergies within 1--2 days of the first dose of Nasonex
nasal inhalation. It may take 1--2 weeks until you feel the full benefit of Nasonex nasal inhalation. Continue to use Nasonex nasal inhalation even if you feel well. Before you use Nasonex n
asal inhalation the first time, read the written instructions that come with it. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it. Practice using the inhaler while he or she watches.
